Microsoft Changes Hardware Requirements for Windows 10

Microsoft has updated its hardware requirements for running Windows 10 on both its hardware and software platforms. The new requirements will allow OEMs to bring further enhancements as well as bring support for Windows 10 to a new array of devices potentially.

Windows 10 can now run on 7 inch screens

For its traditional desktop mode, Microsoft is now lowering the display size required to run it. Windows 10 devices such as tablets, 2-in-1s, laptops and All-in-ones can now be had on screen sizes as small as 7-inches, too. This is lower than the previous requirement which stated that these devices had to be 8” large minimum.

2 GB RAM is the New Minimum

The RAM requirements have also been raised, with both the 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows now requiring 2 GB of RAM each to run the OS. For the 32-bit variant, the requirement previously used to be just 1 GB of RAM.

Windows 10 Mobile Gets Support for More Display Sizes

Microsoft is also giving further room to the Mobile version of the OS. Display sizes of up to 9 inches are now supported on Windows 10 Mobile, up from the previous requirement of 7.99-inches.
We don’t know yet whether this change will lead OEMs to announce an increasing array of portable devices now, though, they arguably have more breathing space now. The better appeal of the desktop version is understandable, though.
Microsoft has also been planning to provide the OS for free on devices less than 9” in size so that might have an impact as well.

So instead of creating new batteries, companies have shifted their focus on faster charging and OPPO IS coming out with a bang. Super VOOC by OPPO is a battery charger that fully charges a mobile in just 15 minutes.
